Santina Donini: 2nd Vice President, Chair of the Education & Health Standing Committee.
Santina was born in Italy, near the northern city of Milan. She moved to Canada in 1979 with her husband and two children. Santina was a homemaker while the children were growing up, but later helped in her husband's business in Belleville, Ontario. Santina is now widowed, both children are married, and she is grandmother to one grandson.
She attended primary and secondary school at the Convent of the Morcelliane Sisters in the City of Brescia. After finishing school, Santina attended the L'Oreal School of Hair Design and Aesthetics in the northern Italian City of Torino. At a very young age she owned and operated her own hair salon. She was also always involved in the Catholic Youth Organization of that City. She taught Catechism to Grade 1 and 2 children, preparing them for First Communion.
She has been a member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada since arriving in Canada. Served in various capacities at the Parish level, then as President of St. Michael the Archangel Parish Council in Belleville. Service on the Archdiocesan Council as Christian Family Life Standing Committee Chairperson for a full term, then served part of a term replacing the Education and Health Standing Committee Chairperson.
Santina was re-elected to the Kingston Archdiocesan Executive as Second Vice President, and continues to serve as Education and Health Standing Committee Chairperson for the 2009 - 2010 term.
