Edith Lepine:  Community Life Chairperson

Edith has been a member since 1991 and is an active member of St. Basil's Guild, Ottawa for 17 years.  She is presently an active member of St. John the Baptist council of the CWL.  She has held the positions of Education, President, Past President, Resolutions Chairperson.  She co-ordinated litrugy for the 2001 Kingston Archdiocesan Convention.

Edith was the liason between Calgary Archdiocesan Council and Discovery House, a second stage home for abused women and children.

Edith was Resolutions Chairperson for two years on the Archdiocesan of Kingston CWL and presented workshops on Resolutions in two regions.

Edith and her husband Fred retired to their woodland home in the Perth area in 1994 to be near their six children and eleven grandchildren.  She has been active in the Horticultural Society, in the area of youth programs and also the Rideau Valley Field Naturalists.  Her hobbies include nature observing, especially wild flowers, gardening, reading and embroidery.  She maintains a particular interest in immigrants, developed as a result of teaching English as a Second Language in Ottawa and Calgary Separate Schools.

It is her hope that the organizational skills that she has developed over the years will enable her to fulfill the mandate of Community Life Chairperson of the Kingston Archdiocesan Council of the Catholic Women's League.
